Relation between Windows 7, my PC and readeable RAM
Hello experts !I have a DELL Precision 370 PC with 4 GB RAM, Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz and a great multimonitor system with 4 21" monitors and two Cards (GeForce 7300G and GeForce 6200). I work now with Windows XP Professional (Version 2002, Service Pack 3) but it just recognizes 3GB of RAM, meaning that I have 1GB phisicaly installed but useless. I am considering buying the new "Windows 7"and I have a few questions for you: will "Windows 7" recognize the full 4GBof RAM I have installed in my PC ? will my actual hardware be capable of exploiding the new feautures of "Windows 7" ? should I consider at the same time upgrading my processor ? would that be necesary ? if so, which one would you recommend ? any comment and suggestions from you will be very welcome, thanks in advance, Antonio.

Windows 7 will not recognize all 4GB of RAM you have installed, because your CPU only supports 32-bit instructions and therefore can't run a 64-bit OS (a requirement for recognizing more than 3GB of RAM.)
If you upgrade your processor to something that supports 64-bit, it will be possible, but you may have to upgrade your motherboard as well for this to work (which in turn may require a RAM upgrade.)
Your computer will run Windows 7 fine and I think it will support all the features, though you will only be able to run the 32-bit version.
You can download Windows 7 RC to test compatibility.
