Remote Desktop Connection Issues -

I use windows 8.1 to connect to a remote desktop Windows 2008 R2.  I have been having disconnection issues whenever my desktop stays idle for as little as 5 minutes.  I noticed in my Admin Log that I got the following error messages consistently throughout the day when I'm working.  Does this mean anything?  By the way, I've been connecting to this server (or a prior version) for 3 years.  I do have a new computer but have used this computer for over a  year with no issues.  A week ago, Time Warner Cable upgraded my modem and that's when the problems started but TWC or the Admin for the Remote Server all claim it is not their problem.  Any advice would be greatly appreciate...here's the log:

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address **left out the letter number combo in case it's a security issue**.  The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Hi,

For the log entry explain that your computer failed to renew its IP address, if this problem occurred after your modem changed, it must be the modem, I am supposing the modem also acting as DHCP server, and your computer rent IP address from it, renew it when the lease is about to expire.

For your Remote issue, please keep your system up to date for good measure. Check to Timeout and Reconnection Settings for Remote Desktop Services Sessions for your Windows server 2008 R2

There are two entries for Idle session limit settings, Properties dialog box and Group Policy settings
