I have tried many different configurations and read all of the help guides, but for some reason I still cannot use remote desktop to access my desktop computer from my laptop.  I have also tried accessing my laptop from my surface but I can't connect there.  My laptop and desktop both run 8.1 Pro.  Also I am able to connect to windows server 2008 (run through amazon web services) from all three devices though.  Thanks in advance

Are these computers in the same network? Have you verified that there isn't firewall blocking attempts?
