Remote Desktop Timeouts
I currently attach to my Windows 7 64Laptop via RDP from a Visa-64 desktop when in the office. I sometimes go several hours without actually interacting with the session, but keep it open due to mail and other items that i keep only on the laptop (which goes home and on the road with me).My problem is that the session keeps timing out. This is not the quick timeout that some have talked about. It seems after an hour or so it times out and i have to sign back in.I have changed the group policy via gpedit.msc so that all the items dealing with session timelimits are disabled under computer configuration and left the settings alone under user configuration. Is there something easy that i have missed?Both thelaptop and desktop in question arein an SBS domain and both are"client computers", could it be that the GP of the domain is overriding my machine GP settings?Thanks for any answers anyone can provide...

Just an update. I did look at my session settings in the domain and noticed that the idle timeout was set to 30 minutes. I upped this to 3 hours. I will let everyone know if this fixed the problem...

Hi Adam....Yes, the issue is resolved, sorry for not getting back sooner. It seems that when I am in the domain, the settings specific to the computer controlling the timeout for RDP is not controlled at the computer itself, instead it is controlled by the user setup within the domain. I had to go to my domain user settings on the server and change the 'session' settings. Doing that has resolved the problem.... I am sure that because I log into my machine via the domain login (even when outside the domain using the cached profile) 100% of the time that these setting are cached when outside the domain and will still apply....Thoughts?
