Restore Files after Reinstall of XP home without format
Okay so Recently i tried to upgrade my xp to SP3, yes i know i am a bit behind on the upgrade, i had tuneup2006 installed and had to delete it and change the boot settings script in order to upgrade. After i fixed the script to what Windows told me it was supposed to be i restarted my pc to find out i was missing the system32 hal.dll file. So i go get my xp home cd and install xp without formatting and everything seemed fine until after it reinstalled i had to make a new login name. I can access every folder from my C: drive except the documents and settings folder for the one login name that has all of my files on it. Error message: "C:\Documents and settings\Peter is not accessible. Access is Denied." How can i make it so i can either A) go back to using the original log in of Peter or B) access all the files in my peter folder.Thank you,Steven1 person needs an answerI do too
