I have a user that is not an admin he has figured out how to install and run programs from his usb/external drive. Is there any way to restrict this? Running windows 7 Professional 64bit?Michelle

There are two ways to get around this issue. 1. Restrict the user from using removable devices. To do so, type "Edit group policy" in the Start search box, Navigate to Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Removable storage access. Change the settings on the right as desired. OR 2. Use AppLocker to deny him access to unauthorized executables. But this will work with Windows 7 Professional only if his PC is in a domain environment. Please revert back here if this does not work or you need an alternative solution.
