SIP/2.0 488 Not Acceptable Here when using Lync/Cisco forking

Hi Folks,

In our Prague office we have Cisco Call Manager, where users are setup so that when their telephone extension is called, it forks to Lync and they can answer on their clients.

Unfortunately this has stopped working for Prague, but strangely it still works for the other office that hang off the same Call Manager. Our support for Cisco has said that Call Manager is getting a 'SIP/2.0 488 Not Acceptable Here' error back from Lync which is why the call is not establishing.

Both CUCM SIP trunks to Lync are in the Lync toplogy. Anyone have any ideas about this strange f

Hi,Phil,

Code G.729 is not used in Lync environment, you can talk to your provider or reconfigure your gateway/PBX to use only G.711 which is accepted by Lync.

Hi,

As stated in my first post, we were not sending in the wrong g.711 format, even though the message back from lync states this.

In the end it turned out that the phones appeared to be registered to the publisher instead of the subscriber.

We did a reset of the Call Manager group for the specific site. After the phones registered with the subscriber again and it worked.

Think we need to look at why it didnt work when they were registered with the Pub though!
