SSLKEYLOGFILE for Windows Store

Hello,

I am facing download problems with the Windows Store. I am using a proxy. I can see a Filestream from the server, but the applications quits the download with the error code 0x8020002e.

There is some TLS encrypted communication, which is good and wanted. But I would like to analyze it for solving purpose. There is a way to read the SSL Key from Firefox and Chrome with the global variable SSLKEYLOGFILE (you can find more information about it here (https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Psst+Your+Browser+Knows+All+Your+Secrets/16415) and here (https://jimshaver.net/2015/02/11/decrypting-tls-browser-traffic-with-wireshark-the-easy-way/)). I tested the global variable in Windows, but there is only a key transaction from a webbrowser. Not from the store.

Do you know any way to extract this SSL key from the webstore? This would be incredibly helpfull.

Best
Ben

Hi BenSec,

The main issue is that downloading the windows store apps with error 0x8020002e,right ?

Considering you are using a proxy ,we can try to use a more stable connection to have a check if it is possible .

We also can try the following steps to have a trobleshoot :
1.Refer to the article and try the steps provided to fix the issue.Run the troubleshoot tool is the first step.

What to do if you have problems with an app

2.Run "WSReset.exe " to clear the Windows Store cache.

3.Considering downloading the windows store apps is using the windows update components.
We also can run the built-in troubleshoot tool to have a diagnostic to have a check .
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories\Windows Update

We also can try the following link to reset the Windows update components to have a check

Hi MeipoXu,

thanks for your answer. We tried most of your suggestions. But it didn't help. Will test out the reset of Windows Update. Will answer if it helped.

But I am still looking for an answer of my original question, due it would become handy in other situations, too.

Best regards,
Ben
