Samba domain vs Windows 7 Pro machine
Hi, I have a problem with adding windows 7 machine to Samba domain (version 3.4.7-0.50.fc9). I've tried some options to solve this but with no success:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2171571
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7
also some local security policy settings:
- network security: LAN Manager authentification level - send LM&NTLM responses
- minimum session security for NTLM SSP - no minimum
The only result I got - machine started to see the network(after I changed the network from being work to home). Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
What is the error message you received when trying to join the domain? Can Windows 7 see Samba sharing files?
I find a similar issue. Hope it helps.

The message I get is:
"The following error occured attempting to join the domain ""
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
Windows 7 can see samba shares in case of direct path, but only because I changed the network type to home, in case of work network it's not possible. Thanks for the information above, but unfortinately it didn't do it:(

Hi Artjom,
Would you please let me know if you have edited registries according to the previous post?
There is a hotfix available from Microsoft to address this. You can refer to:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2171571
Before running the hotfix, please make sure to reset the registry parameters (NETLOGON) to their default values.
HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Netlogon\Parameters
DWORD RequireSignOrSeal = 1
DWORD RequireStrongKey = 1
