Screen Freeze with Nothing in the Event Logs
I have three Windows 7 Pro computers. Two of them consistently freeze, usually during IE or Firefox opereration. The other Windows 7 computer has NO freeze problems. Neither the CTRL-ALT-DEL or the mouse cursor will not respond. The only way out of this is a hard shutdown. Checking the Events is useless because when it freezed nothing in recorded either. I've been chasing this problem for months and can't find the solution. The Internet is fairly quiet on this issue, Fixit doesn't find any problems, chkdsk /r finds nothing. I'm very frustrated with this issue.Steve King

1. I expect that you have your system updated and the same is true for antivirus program. 2. Try to delete all items in browsers except for favorites. Also disable add-ons. 3. You have not mentioned the browser versions 4. For Firefox hangs troubleshoting look into Firefox Knowledge Base, eg http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs 5. Give a try to special IE forum here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/ieitprocurrentver/threads 6. Perhaps application compatibility logging would help http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/internet-explorer3/enable-compatibility-logging-internet-explorer-7-8-event-log-142000 Regards Milos
