When I type caps lock "v", the "v" is typed capitalised.
How do I get the shift + v to work?

My advice: return keyboard and use less ergonomic, but reliable keyboard

Hi,
Is the issue confined to any particular applications?
When you press shift +other key,I would like to know the result.
I suggest that you check the keyboard to see if one of multimedia keys were stuck.
Also,it may be caused by shortcuts conflict.
Please check if you experience the issue in Safe mode.
Regards,
I had the exact same problem as you described. In addition to this problem, whenever I pressed any three keys in combination rapidly, the OS would behave erratically as if the keys were stuck; I suppose this was happening in software because they did not appear so physically.
Solution... out of frustration I just slapped the keyboard heavily above the 'v' key and it resolved all my problems!
V - finally achieved using shift+v
Hope this works for you. :)
I've had this same issue with 4-5 of these Microsoft sculpt keyboards. Always the 'v' key, and more frustrating is the screen refresh as if some key is stuck. This has happened on perhaps 10 different computers, with every flavor of OS from Win7 to Win10. The capital V issue is easily resolved by using the CAPS LOCK key. Or I should say that is a work around, not a resolution.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but still the same issues. The screen refresh will send email if it occurs while you are composing a new email. This is so frustrating that I've had to switch to another keyboard. I hope that Microsoft identifies a fix for these issues and updates the drivers soon.
