Search/Gatherer 3036 event (HRESULT 0x8004005): CSC
Hi, I am experiencing the following warning event in the Windows 7 x64 Application log several times per day. Source: Microsoft-Windows-Search Event ID: 3036 Task Category: Gatherer Level: Warning Keywords: Classic User: N/A Description: The content source <csc://{S-1-5-21-4018826578-3196808780-3088313005-1003}/> cannot be accessed. Context: Application, SystemIndex Catalog Details: (HRESULT : 0x80004005) (0x80004005) The computer is not assigned in a domain. There are two user accounts on that particular computer, whereas A is the only one which is currently logged in. Based on my research in the registry, the {S-1-5-21-4018826578-3196808780-3088313005-1003} is an id of the second user B, which is not logged in. The URI is referenced in HKLM\SW\MS\Windows Search\Gather\Windows\SystemIndex\Sites\{S-1-5-21-4018826578-3196808780-3088313005-1003}\Paths\0\Path= and is handled by the Search.CscHandler.1 object. What do you suggest to eliminate this warning? Thank you.

Hi, Thank for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum. In fact, this is just a warning, they won’t affect your system. So, you could ignore them, it’s OK. And these warnings can be caused by Windows Index Feature, so we can try to rebuild the Index data base to check the result: 1. Click on the Start Button, type "Indexing Options" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter. 2. In the "Index these locations" section, remove all the Internet Explorer History items. Click the "Advanced" button. 3. Click on the "Index Settings" tab. 4. Under Troubleshooting, click the "Rebuild" button. Also, if you have other related issue, please feel free to let us know. Hope it helps. Regards, Alex Zhao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. Hi Alex, thank you for your reply. I will get back to you in few days - based on early estimates, it would take almost a day or two to rebuild the index. Best regards, Martin
