Search index is continually being deleted
Good morning, I am having a difficulty with my search index. It appears that it is being deleted/recreated on a regular basis. The only thing I can think of which may be affecting this is the product CCleaner which I use to remove temporary Internet files and other non-essential files. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop the index from being recreated so frequently? Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15

Hi, Please try to rebuild the Index to check what the result is: 1. Open the Control Panel. 2. In the Instant Search box, type Index. 3. Click on Indexing Options. 4. Click on Run as Administrator and allow the privileges. 5. Click on Advanced, then Rebuild. If this cannot work, try System Restore to get back to a previous good time point. Alex, I am able to rebuild the index with no errors. I am just trying to determine why it appears to start rebuilding automatically. Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15

Hi, As you said, this would be related to your recent operations, so just try system restore to see what the result is. Also, please test with another account to see if this issue persists. Alex, This does not answer the question as to why the index seems to keep being deleted. I am able to rebuild the index at any point in time. I am still investigating this issue. Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15

Hi, As we said, this would be related to the previous operations in Windows 7. From many people’s experience, it isn’t recommended to use such registry cleaner utility, incorrect registry modification or cleanup may cause unexpected damage. So I suggest you try system restore to go back to a previous good status to check the result.
