Searching with Windows 7
I was trying to find a file on my hard disc and every time I typed in the file name, I was taken to the website where the file originated. Is there any way to restrict the "Search" facility (Start/Search programs and files) to one's hard discs rather than being taken on a world tour? It is really frustrating to find oneself taken to a website when all one wants is the location of a file in the computer. Typing "search" in the "Help" facility comes up with things like "View and edit firewall options "

Hi, This behavior occurs if the website that provides this file was saved somewhere. When you search the folder by name, the website cache is detected and you may access it by accident. After you searching typing the file name, please check the location of the file that will direct you to the website. If you want to change the search result, you may disable htlm files from the search result. Please refer the following steps. 1. Open Control Panel.2. Double-click Indexing Options. 3. Click the Advanced button.4. Click File Types tab.5. Disable indexing for htm and html files. If it does not resolve the issue, please capture a screenshot of the search result, and submit it in SkyDrive of your Live Space.Arthur Xie - MSFT
