Second administrator account
How do I get rid of a second administrator account? In the User folder a second account named Administrator.computername appears and you can not delete it?

Let me clarify. I did not create this account. It appeared on its own. I do not want two accounts named Administrator. Does anyone know how or why it appears? How to prevent it?

IF there are two accounts with the same name then backup and install Windows fresh as there is a major security problem. yes I am on a domain. when I am logged on as administrator and try to delete the profile "administrator.computername" from the user folder the error message states "the action can not be completed because the folder or a file is in use by another program" This makes me believe that the original administrator account is corrupted and this second one was created and I am really logged on as administrator.computername If I create a new account and log on with that one then I can delete administrator.computername but then when I try to log back on as the administrator again it tells me I am being logged on with a temporary profile What would cause the administrator profile to become corrupt?

OK that is the reason for 2 administrator accounts, one for local and one for the server My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT I am best with C++ and I am learning C# using Visual Studio 2010 Developer | Windows IT | Chess | Economics | Hardcore Games | Vegan Advocate | PC Reviews

Hi, It should be the built-in local administrator account besides the domain admin. Please boot in Safe Mode and log in with your local Administrator. Then open a CMD windows and type the following command to disable the built-in local administrator account. net user administrator /active:no If the issue persists, please help me collect the screenshot of the error message and Administrator account. How to capture a screenshot ------------------------------------------ 1. When the error message occurs, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. Save the picture onto your desktop and Upload to SkyDrive.
