Security problems
I tried to lock out one of my hard drives with my personal info on it so the kids couldnt open it under their user account. when it locked me out as well i went back to change the setting. now i have to claim ownership to every file on the drive before
i can open it. what do i do to get them all unlocked at once? It keeps asking for my admin account which i am logged onto.

Hi Tensyn,
Try the following steps to take ownership of the drives:
a. Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the file or folder you want to take ownership of.
b. Right-click the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the
Security tab.
c. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
d. Click Edit, and then do one of the following:
. To change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click
Other users and groups and, in Enter the object name to select (examples), type the name of the user or group, and then click
OK.
. To change the owner to a user or group that is listed, in the Change owner to box, click the new owner.
e. Select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box to change the owner of all subcontainers and objects within the tree.
Hope it helps.

Hi Tensyn,
As Styxen said, you can take the ownership of the folder.
In additon, you don’t need to “lock” the drive, just do not give the permission to the kids account.
Right-click the drive – Properties – Security Tab, under the “Group or user names”, click Edit.
Choose your kids account, under the box, check “Deny” or every option, then Apply – Ok.
When you logon the computer using your own account, you can normally visit the drive without any prompt windows, however, the kids cannot visit it.
