Security update (KB981349) for Windows XP
I got a notice that i need to find and uninstall this update from my computer because its causing some type of vulnerability. Where might i go to find this, or can i run something in the run command box?1 person needs an answerI do too

I got a notice that i need to find and uninstall this update from my computer because its causing some type of vulnerability. Where might i go to find this, or can i run something in the run command box? Please open Add/Remove programs and uninstall it. 1. Click on Start/Run type APPWIZ.CPL in the box and click on Ok to open Add/Remove programs. 2. Under Add/Remove programs put a check mark infront of Show updates at top of the right corner after that It will show you all updates installed into your system. 3. Please click on Security update (KB981349) and click on Remove button to uninstall it. Please reply, If you face any problem. K M JHA Technical Support Executive (INDIA)

Thank you so much for the information. But, when I did this, it still didn't show up in my programs. I think it may be attached to something having ti do with the SP2 update, but not sure. If you can possibly help me futher to find this KB i need to get rid of, I would most surely appreiciate it.

You're welcome. Please let me know, how since long you are facing this problem? You can also restore your system in previous good working condition (Before downloading this KB981349). 1.Log on to Windows as Administrator. 2.Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts. 3.On the Welcome to System Restore page, click "Restore my computer to an earlier time" (if it is not already selected), and then click next. 4.On the "Select a Restore Point page", you'll see two section. 1. "On this calendar, click a bold date" and 2. "On this list, click a restore point". In first section select a prior bold date and in second section select a restore point, then click Next. A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK. 5.On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer. 6.Log on to the computer. The System Restore Restoration Complete page appears. 7.Click OK. This article summarizes the problem that KB981349 is intended to address. The article also discusses some known issues with a limited number of computers and gives details about uninstalling. If you call, say that you have a problem with KB981349 associated with Security Bulletin MS10-022.
