I have one laptop Acer and after install Service Pack 1 for Vista, I got this error:Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automaticallyStartupRepairV2AutoFailover6.0.6000.16386.6.0.6000.1638661966110CorruptFileCorruptFile32212256243WrpRepair106.0.6000.2.0.0.256.11033In system Recovery Options, I tried System Restore, however, there isn't any restore points created.I tried Safe mode too.I can see all files in the command prompt. Please help me !!!!!

Hi C040164, thanks for the post. This issue can be caused by several factors including corrupted system components, third party device driver, etc which may need a clean install to resolve it. Before doing that, let's try the following steps and check the result: Step 1: Log on Safe Mode ================= Note: This mode will load the system with the minimum amount of programs and devices. 1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple Operating Systems, you can press the F8 key when you see the boot menu. 2. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter. 3. Log onto the default administrator account or any user account with the administrator privileges. Note 1: In Safe Mode, your system display and desktop will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary. To go back to Normal Mode, we just need to restart the computer. Note 2: If after keeping pressing F8, nothing happens. It is because the settings have been changed by the computer manufacturer. Please refer to the user manual or contact the computer manufacturer for the information how to enter Safe Mode. If we cannot log on Safe Mode, lets do system restore. Step 2: System Restore in Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) ========================================== Note: Please ensure that the DVD-ROM is the first booting device. 1. Please insert the Windows Vista Installation DVD and reboot the computer. 2. When we are prompted to press a key to boot from the DVD, please press Enter or spacebar. 3. Click "Next" and click "Repair your computer". 4. Highlight the item related to Windows Vista and click "Next". 5. Click "System Restore". If the issue still occurs or restore point is not available, please try step 3. Step 3: Use the System File Checker (SFC) to scan system files ===================================================== The System File Checker tool enable an administrator to scan all protected files to verify their versions. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Click "Start", type "CMD" (without quotation marks) in the "Start Search" box. Right click on the "CMD.exe" file, choose "Run as Administrator" 2. Copy and paste "SFC /Scannow" (without quotation marks) in the "Open" box, and click "OK".
