Setting up printer sharing
I am having trouble trying to figure out how to set up printing sharing on my network. I created a network called MSHOME on my Window XP computer. This computer is plugged into a Linksy's Wireless router. I have a Windows Vista Laptop that I am trying to connect through the wireless routher to the XP computer to print from but I cant figure out how to do this. Can someone help me figure this out. Thanks, Nathan

Is the printer 1) LAN attached/connected to the router via ethernet(RJ45) cable ? or 2)wirelesslyrecognized by the router ?or 3)Connected to XP desktop via USB, serial, orCentronics cable? If managed by th XP desktop then you need to configure XP to grant/share the printer with your laptop. If either 1) or 2) is the case then the printer is served in a role ofa print server itself. You need to know the IP addresses of the printer, router, DHCP server from the router to configure it. You may want to hit the site of your router vendor for additional info.

Thanks for the reply. The printer is connected to the Windows XP computer through a USB port. How would I configure the XP computer to grant the laptop to have access to the printer?
