Share desktop internet conenction with windows mobile through Windows Mobile Device Center
I have been struggling with this for the last couple of hours, and no progress. I use USB data cable to sync data between WM device and PC. This works ok. Now I want to also use desktop's ADSL internet connecting with WM device - this is the problem. 1. I connect WM device (OS 6.1) to PC through USB cable. A virtual network adapter is created on PC, establishing a connection with WM, this adapter receives 169.254.2.2 IP, 255.255.255.0 subnet mask and 169.254.2.1 gateway - this I think the problem is. I can browse WM device though PC. 2. I connect to internet with desktop PC through NIC, which is connected to a ADSL router. This NIC has 192.168.2.x IP, 255.255.255.0 subnet mask, and 192.168.2.1 gateway (and also has appropriate DNS servers. All this settings are static (no DHCP involved). What I need to do to use ADSL connection with WM device? I tried setting ICS on virtual network adapter, but it sets (ADSL's) NIC's IP to 192.168.137.1, and I obviouslt loose internet connection on PC. If I retype IP and gateway on this adapter, I now have internet access on PC, but still no internet from WM device. Thanks, Goran
