Shares hosted on 2008 r2 not accessible through DFS with Windows 7/2008 R2 machine. Directly accessing the share works.
We have 4 servers (2x 2008 R2; 2x 2003) with a couple of shares on them.
We use DFS to link to the shares.
We have a Folder within DFS with 4 referrals. Each to one of the 4 servers mentioned above.
Accessing all shares on all machines directly works fine.
Accessing referrals of which the shares are hosted on the 2003 boxes works also.
Accessing referrals of which the shares are hosted on the 2008 R2 boxes doesnt work on Windows 7/Windows 2008 R2 machines. Accessing these shares from Windows 2003 doesnt give a problem.
We get the following errors:
0x80070035
and
\\domain\namespace\folder is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
A volume has been accessed for which a file system driver is required that has not yet been loaded.
Netbios over TCP/IP is enabled.
WINS & DNS Servers are configured.
Permissions on the shares are sufficient (full control)
Firewall is turned off.
Antivirus is turned of.
We already recreated the shares, referrals, DFS folder.
The Windows 2008 R2 machines are patched with SP1 and all post SP1 patches.
Anyone suggestions?

Hi,
You can try to access network share on Server 2008 R2 by
\\Ipaddress\sharefolder instead of using
\\domainserver\sharefolder for test.
Furthermore, you can also temporary disable IPv6 on Windows 7 machine:
How
to disable IP version 6 (IPv6) or its specific components in Windows 7, in Windows Vista, in Windows Server 2008 R2, and in Windows Server 2008
In addition, I suggest to contact Windows Server 2008 networking forum for further help:
