Sierra Wireless 880U Not Showing in Connection Manager
Hello all,First and foremost, thanks to MS for making RC1 free for use.Now to the problem. I have a Telstra Bigpond branded (different SIM, unlocked handset, updated firmware to allow GPS) 880U. This handset will operate with the generic Sierra Watcher software. That is only barely acceptable to me, since there is already a WWAN component within Seven.Okay, now for the head-scratching part. Network Connections panel lists the device as Local Area Connection 2. When clicking the Diagnose connection button, w/out the Watcher software running, Seven tells me to insert an Ethernet cable. ?!?!. Furthermore, some part of Seven recognises the device as being Wireless, as its got the five green bars on the adapter icon.Yes, I have the latest watcher package installed (3.1.06.1986), Yes, I have the Windows 7 drivers installed (uninstalled and reinstalled several times) on this 64-bit flavoured machine.Ideally, I would like to keepit as simple as possible, without the need for third-party applications in order to run my hardware... Is this a Microsoft Seven issue, or have Sierra b0rked up and lobbed a set of 'Windows Seven Compliant" drivers, which aren't actually NDIS 6.20 compliant?

It sounds like your drivers simply aren't compatible, or they'd register the device correctly on Windows 7.
