Similar Windows Problems on Two Computers... Any Help?
Hey everyone! Names Jason and I really need some help lol. Hopefully this is where I would ask something like this but here I go. These problems started to happen a few days ago. Theres two computers: Mine & my Parents. Both are not networked & not even in the same house. Parents computer Is HP and I had bought for them last December from Best Buy. Few Days ago Parents computer started to act weird such as when you open AOL, AOL would just say Not Responding. And same thing with Firefox. I tried to make sure Windows Update was all updated & ran AVG. But it just got worse. Than whenever the computer would start it would ask to activate Vista. It was saying the key wasn't valid. So I tried to Vista Recovery program, went to advanced options thing, and ran some tests it had. No problems came up at all. Only time computer would act right is when the computer was in Safe Mode Or Safe Mode with Networking. Even AOL would correctly work. But than little after that Bam... Computer got stuck in a constant stage of restarting whenever on. It would turn on and almost get finished turning on and than just restart. Than my parents said they didn't mind If I just set the computer back to its factory settings. I used Windows Recovery program... Did the option to back up the important stuff and recovered it. But than when it was all done and loading it said there was a configuration error and it just shuts down. Whenever it starts up configuration error starts when its almost done and shuts down. Thats where my parents computer is.Now little bit after that my computer which is not networked or even same house of the other computer. Has had no connections with the other computer. It also has Vista on it. And I got it from HP.com in 06. I tried to open AOL and always a blue screen would appear. Could never fully read it cause it would only come up quickly and than shut down. Something about an AOL error. But just like the other computer everything would be fine in Safe Mode with Network (which I am in right now). I definitly have all the newest WIndows Updates. And now my computer is in a constant state of restarting unless I put it in Safe Mode with Network. I haven't yet gotten a Windows Activation error thing like the other computer. But my girlfriend said her facebook account was hacked and emails were sent to her friends that she didn't send. Thats where my computer is at right now.I really wish I was able to spend more time on this already but I just started a new job and didnt have much time. My first thought is that it might be the Gimmiv thing people are talking about. But to my knowledge I haven't heard of anything like this happening with it. And I have the windows update patch that is supposed to fix it. And isn't mostly just a threat to business computers (both of the computers are personal home computers) and ones without firewalls?I really have no Idea where to turn to right now... its getting pretty bad. Anyone have any idea whats happening and/or what to do? I Appreciate any help! Thanks!
