Skype for Business option

Dear Team,

we need to subscribe Skype for business for the lead team (8 Departmental head).  Would appreciate quick work on this.

We are currently running Lync 2010 (now converted to Skype for Business) but not hosted it on Public IP is there any option to subscribe & deploy skype for business.

Regards,

Adnan Ahmed

If you install Office 2013, you could easily update the Clients to SFB client, because the SFB client can connect to lync 2010 server.

What do you mean wit register SFB?

You only need to run PIC for Skype, but not for using SFB.

SFB 2015  is the next version of Lync 2013.

If you have a license for Office 2013 you can still upgrade to SFB 2015 client.

You have 2 options. You have Skype for Business Online and you have Skype for Business Server 2015 On-Premises. Having bunch of servers deployed on-premises for 8 users is sheer waste of resources. Best option for you is to open up a tenant in O365 and get 8 licenses for your department heads. They will connect to Skype for for Business online servers hosted in O365.

If you want to configure a Lync Federation with consumer skype user you need to run the provisioning.

Hi Syed_Adnan,

To better understand your needs, I would like to confirm the following information.

Do you mean that youre going to set up external access for the 8 Departmental head ? (Communication with partner who is using Lync or consumer Skype User ?)

Best regards,

Eric
