When placing the computer in sleep mode, within seconds it comes out of sleep by itself. Troubleshooting, found that if I disconnect from my network, sleep functions as it should. Called the network provider and got no joy from them. Any ideas?

There are two or three possible settings that may be the cause. One is in BIOS (depending on your PC and NIC). If it's an onboard NIC, boot into BIOS, look for a setting under Onboard Devices (or something similar) that says Wake on Lan (WOL). Disable that, save, and exit. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections. Highlight Local Area Connection and select "Change settings for this connection." Click on the Configure button, Advanced, and look for a Wake on Lan setting. Disable that one also. Click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the box next to "Allow this device to wake the computer." Now your network activity should not wake the PC. I saw the link, but I thought you were making the statement that "Windows 7 does not go to sleep", not as the title to the link :-) Sorry :-( SC Tom -There's no such thing as TMI when asking for tech support.
