Slow Web Browsing
Every time I type the web address in the address bar there is a 5+ second delay before it actually begins to load the page. At the bottom of the web browser it says "looking for www.XXXXXXX.com". Once it connects the page loads pretty fast but if there are any ads on the page it deays on them as well. I have used both IE and FF with similar results. My dual boot XP, and Ubuntu server don't have any issues and each are running similar settings. Is there anyone with a similar issue or with any idea what might fix it?-Thanks

If your machines are running slow consider running simply maintenance procedures.
1. MSCONFIG- disable any start-up programmes you don't want to run. e.g. Adobe
2. run cleanmgr.exe- Disk clean-up. Deletes/removes tmp files and files not in use. e.g. trials of games
3. Run the Disk Defragmenter tool. Consolidates all your files into more managable sectors on your HDD.
Also when it comes to internet browsing consider disabling any toolbars you don't want. Try clearing the cookies.
Also check what channel your router is operating on.
Are you connecting wirelessly? if not...fibre-optic? or firewire? or USB 2.0/3?
