Slow deployment of windows 7 system image backup
I saved a system image (C:/ & System Reserved selected by defaut) to another int. drive. Took just a few minutes. I successfully restored from the image but it took 6.5 hours! Boot dirive is a 60 gig SSD with high read speed but rather disappointing
write speed compared to a sata2 hdd. The Win7 installation occupies aprox half of the drive.
Have I answered my own question? Or is there something else I or windows sould be doing to speed up the process?

I think is the SSD that is causing a problem. Not the SSD in particular but a combination of BIOS and perhaps lack of drivers to work well with the SSD. For example I have an SSD drive but is not recognized by the BIOS.
If you want to troubleshoot further and find out exactly what the problem is , try restoring your OS on a regular HDD, see how fast is it then. Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you! The Ultimate computer newbie guide since the discovery of spoon feeding!

Restoring to a drive with spinning platters is an excellent idea. I'm sure it will help me determine if the SSD is the problem. I have requested a response from Mushkin also. I will also checkout bios settings. I have to say the machine performs very well
apart from the restore issue.

Hi,
As Lonewolf79 says, there are several elements can cause this.
So try to contact the manufacturer is a better way.
