Slow internet problem after Win7 install
Hi, I just installed Win7RC as dual boot on my asus n20a notebook with vista. For some reason in Win7 my internet connection download speed is ridiculously slow. If I boot to Vista however it is fine is there anyway to fix this? I have installed all drivers and updates, but it didnt fix it. Im really liking Win7 ,but I cant take such slow connection speeds. I ran speedtest and Im getting .19 Mbps download speeds in Win7 vs 20Mbps download speeds. Please someone help me fix this.

Here are a few things you can try but make sure you are free from malware before trying them, i.e. if you are in any doubt, run your anti programs. 1. Create a system restore point before making these registry changes, just in case you have finger problems. Click the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and navigate to registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings Look for two keys in the right pane, MaxConnectionsPerServer and MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server. If they exist, then right-click on each in turn and Modify the value to decimal 10 (hex a). If the strings don't exist in the right pane they will need to be added manually. To add the two keys, right-click in the white space in the right pane, select New > DWORD Value, type the first name as the string name, press Enter and then repeat the procedure for the second one. Now modify the values to decimal 10 (hex a). As the registry key is a CURRENT_USER one, the change needs to be done for each user of the computer. 2. Turn off 'RSS Feeds' by going to Internet Options > Content Tab > Feeds and Web Slices > Settings and uncheck Automatically check feeds for updates. 3. You may be running too many add-ons. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Manage add-ons then disable any unnecessary add-ons.

Ok, I havent tried any of the above yet, but I connected to a network at my school with it and it worked fine. It is only when I try to connect to my home network In Win7 that I get the really slow connection speeds. I am going to try the above and see if that helps.
