Slow local printing on Win7 PC's connected to domain
I have a site that just upgraded 4 WinXP PC's to Dell Optiplex 780 Win7 64-bit. Most of the users have a older HP Laserjet printers (4050/4100/4200's) attached to their PC's, using the parallel port. When a print job is sent to the printer, it takes
about a minute to start - unusually slow!
I'll be going to the site to fix the problem. For troubleshooting, I am:
Taking a USB printer cable and a USB-to-parallel adapter. (If, by chance, the printers have a USB port, no problem - I realize adapters are iffy, at best.)
Check and experiement with BIOS settings (PS/2 is default; according to the manual, my choices are Disable/AT/PS2/EPP/ECP No DMA/ECP DMA 1/ECP DMA 3).
Basically delete the port and re-install
Any other ideas?
Thank you in advance . . .

Hi,
I cannot find the BIOS and drivers for Windows 7 with Dell Optiplex 780. It could be a compatibility issue. Please confirm with the manufacture if your computer is
compatible with Windows 7. If not, some hardware may not work properly.

Also, please load the latest printer's driver from the manufacture's site to check the result.
