Slow save-as in Windows 7
In a small office environment I have one machine on which a save-as is intermitentantly very slow (up to 5 to 10 minutes). The dialogue box will take a few seconds to display but then when save is pressed the entire system slows way down adn will take up to 10 minutes to save. I have tried removing all mapped network drives as well as removing from the domain and disabling the AV but to no avail. As far as the intermitancy, the first save-as is always slow, then after a completed save-as it seems to be okay for a couple of hours then it will eventually occur again.

the only time I have seen this happening is 1. when you save a file which is on a network and you have a slow network connection 2. You have quite a large file (>5MB) which you try to save is this the case with you ?Seth

New information: I made a mistake in my orignal post. As it turns out the problem goes away in the following circumstances: When I remove the machine frmo the domain and when I run it in safe mode. Tried removing it from the domain and then re-adding it but to no avail. We just purchased 10 of these machines wirth the same configuration. This is the only one causing problems.
