Slow system start-up after security update to Windows XP Pro
Since the Windows security update of February 9, my Dell Dimension 8100 running XP Pro SP3 has been much slower starting up. The login screen won't respond until significant hard disk activity has cleared, which takes about 3-4 minutes. This never happened before. Once the hard disk light goes out, I can log in and everything works fine after that.Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can fix it?
