Software and databases work correctly on my hard drive, but not on the mapped drive of my hard drive
I am not the most computer saavy person, so please forgive me if I use the wrong lingo. I work in an office where there are three computers networked together. My computer is the server and the other two computers access the internet through my computer. In the past I have created a mapped drive of my hard drive that all three computers access to gain simultaneous access to the softwares Quicken and Timeslips. This has always functioned correctly other than everyonce in a while having to re-map the drive because for some reason it has fallen off. This time, however, the network cable somehow got unplugged, and no matter what I do, the mapped drive won't function correctly. My hard drive is functioning correctly. I can access the current and old databases of Quicken and Timeslips through my hard drive with no problem. But when I try to do the same thing through the mapped drive, it doesn't work. Whenever I try to open a database directly from my mapped drive, I get some kind of error message saying either that the directory can't be located or the file cannot be opened. The internet is working for all three computers, the mapped drive on one of the other computers is working, but as I said, the mapped drive that I created of my hard drive seems to somehow be corrupt. I have tried creating the mapped drive about 50 times today with no luck. My computer's operating system is Windows XP Home Edition. Any pointers would be most appreciated!
