I have been having problem with software updates never finishing downloading and installing with Windows 7. Example: I open up Itunes and it tells me there is a newer version. I click on install up dates and it proceeds to download the update. The status bar never reaches more than 1/4 of the way accross and nver finishes downloading or updating. If I go to itunes site and save the download to my hardrive and install it it works. I would like to know how to resolve this problem,

It may be your security software blocking the install from the web application. Disable protection temporarily and test the update process. Add iTunes to the trusted apps list. Visit or contact iTunes support. You could also uninstall it completely and start again with the latest version.
