Some display boxes in software have small font which I can hardly read;  when I'm on Internet, font is larger.
Running Windows 7 Premium and Internet Explorer 8 and a 20 in. Acer monitor. The font size on IE is much larger than the dialog boxes in software, such as Word, Simply Accounting. Those boxes are very small and are difficult to read on the desktop. The desktop icons are another size, and are very readable. I've set the display to custom 105% in order to enlarge the screen text but this did not change any software dialog boxes. What can I do to correct this?

Hi, When did the issue begin to occur? Have any new programs or update installed on the machine? At this stage, I suggest you right click the Desktop and click Personalization. In the opened box, please select “Windows 7 Basic” Themes to check the result. If the issue persists, I suggest you restart the machine in Safe Mode for a test. Does the issue persist in this mode? Meanwhile, please also refer to the following article to modify the Screen Resolution and Text size. Modify Desktop item size Thanks, Novak Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
