Within the last couple of days my very stable XP Pro system has spontaneously shutdown and hung on the reboot. The Event Viewer is showing this error about the time of the shutdowns: The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Any idea what this means and why it would suddenly start? Scans are showing the computer as clean and uninfected. Any suggestions as to what I can do to stop it? Would disabling the ParPort in the registry take care of this problem?1 person needs an answerI do too
