Standalone Windows 7 network (no Internet) shows high traffic counts / slow response
Three Windows 7 PCs connected to stand-alone switch (no Internet) are very slow sharing files and the main computer's database. Send / receive counts shown on network connections are very high (millions in minutes) on idle network. I have replaced ethernet cards, switch, cables - no joy. I setup another location with same configuration and have the same problem. I suspect Windows 7 networking is the cause of the high traffic count and slow network. Are there Windows 7 network services that I need to turn off since this network is not connected to DNS or Internet?

No viruses. These computers are not connected to the Internet and no files are copied onto them via USB or otherwise. It is a true stand-alone network.

Please try this: 1. Use Performance Monitor to show the network connection 2. Try to turn off the firewall
