Startup issue..
i have a Sony Vaio, which came preinstalled with Win7 home premium 64bit OS, i wanted to install Win7 ultimate 32bit. So i partitioned my HDD n made a 16GB partition for it. I tried installing Win 7, but it freezed at around 60% installation.. i turned off my laptop n turned it on again, tried to install i again, formatted the 16 GB drive, n reinstalled it.. but, same problem again, it freezed at around 60% installation... i had to turn off my laptop again... was so annoyed that now i dont want the other OS., i'd rather install Win XP pro 32 bit.. The issue is that when i power on my laptop now, it gives me 3 options for OS. 1. Windows 7 2. Windows 7 3. Windows 7 only the 3rd 1 works(m not expecting the 1st n the 2nd to work :P), I just want to remove the 2 options which dont work, but am unable to find any settings... I plan to install Win XP 32 Bit later... Please help me out...

EasyBCD makes using BCEDIT a lot easier. Give it a try.Rich Why can't I be different and original like everybody else? - Vivian Stanshal

Hi, Open Control panel->system->advanced system settings. You can choose the third Windows 7 item as default operation system and set the "time to display" to 0 as a workaround. If you choose to download EasyBCD, Open the EasyBCD windows, click "Manage Bootloader" in left panel, check "uninstall the windows 7 Bootloader" beneath the "Bootloader Install Options" in the right panel. Then click "write MBR". After restarting, one item will be removed. In addition, you can try "rebuild BCD" to check the result. This option lets you select the installations that you want to add to the BCD store. For detailed information, visit http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927392?p=1
