Static IP for wireless network
Hi Everyone, Just a short question: If I set the ip address of my wireless network adapter tostatic ip address, does the change affect all the wireless networks which I connect to? Or the setting is going to be specific for the network I was connected to, when I set the ip address. So, how can I tell my computer to use a static ip address for a specific network, and obtain addresses via dhcp otherwise? Thanks for helping!

You couldtry thenetwork adapters alternateconfiguration window. Go into the properties for TCP/IPv4 and select the Advanced ->Alternate Configuration tab... Here is the XP article that talks about this... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283676 Its also possible NetSwitcher would work for you. I don't know if it runs on Vista yet but if they have a trial version you could see. If nothing else try to run it in XP SP2 compatability mode. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283676 Its also possible NetSwitcher would work for you.
