Strange Homegroup password question
Hey allI have a strange windows 7 homegroup password question. When i first connected to my home network router windows 7 asked to setup up a homegroup password which i did.now after few days i had to format my laptop and connected to my wireless home network the home group wizard says something like A homegroup has been already set up "XYZ"(my name before formatting the laptop).if you want to join the homegrou ask XYZ for password. ITs the same me with the same laptop connected to the same wireless network. how do i reset the homegroup and start a new one?please help

click Start & type homegroup in the Search box. you'll see a few items for fixing homegroup problems, including resetting the password. you'll need to do this on all of your pc's if they should all be in the same homegroup. Note that you'll need to make sure that all pc's are in a "home" network location profile, not "work" and not "public", as homegroup is only possible in "home" profile

Hi, You can try above suggestion to reset HomeGroup and change password. Alternatively, leaving HomeGroup on each machine is also a workaround to start a new HomeGroup. You just need leave the current HomeGroup on each machine, and then create a new one on one of machine. Thanks, Novak
