Stuttering issues and freezes with SSD
I just made a fresh install of XP with SP3 on a Mushkin SSD 128GB, things worked smooth up until I did all the required updates from Microsoft Site. I basically installed every single update necessary since I didn't think it caused problems. The problem I am facing now is stuttering, system freezes when I do any small operation, like installing an app or watching youtube, or even saving an excel document. Takes about 4-5 minutes for every task. I know for a fact that this didn't happen prior to me doing all the updates. Any sort of advice would be welcomed. If anyone could point out what update causes this I would love to know. I need to mention I did updates for Office 2003, every single update was installed. And also how do I remove that particular update... Cheers1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi livioo,Did your updates include drivers, or just critical updates?I'll assume you can't remove applications or updates when Windows is running normally due to stability. You dont mention however whether the PC is stable in safe mode.If so, you should be able to uninstall the update(s) in Safe Mode;As the PC boots up, Tap the F8 key to bring up the Windows Advanced Options Menu.Choose Safe Mode with the arrow keys and Hit Enter.Go into control panel and uninstall the update you feel may be contributing.Reboot normally & test.Once stable,I'd also run a disk check first, and if ok, defragment the drive. Trial Diskkeeper for this- http://www.diskeeper.com/Some SSDs also support S.MA.R.T which means they can be queried for internal errors, there's also software out there for this, or the manufacturer may have a diagnostic tool download.Let us allknow how you get on.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, it seems there are no updates in Add/Remove panel. So even if I installed all of them (only critical ones not drivers) I cannot undo my steps. Maybe there is another way to find out what list of updates I installed and try to remove them ? Cheers
