Synaptics Touchpad Left Click Button and Tap to Click Feature Stopped Working
I am having problems with my Synaptics Touchpad v6.3 installed on my HP 1003nr. I was on Firefox Browser when I clicked and dragged a line of text from one window to another. The computer froze for about 30 secs and all of the sudden my left click button AND my tap to click feature is not working. *I looked at my toolbar icon for the driver and it is stating that the left click button is being held down but it is not affecting my computer at all (unlike when you hold down a normal mouse button and it is always dragging). When I restart the computer, the first time I click the button, it clicks and drags like selecting multiple desktop icons and then goes dead. It is not a physical problem because both the tap to click and the left click features are not working and nothing happened to the computer within that 30 sec freeze. I know its a Windows problem so I need help with what to do. System restore was disabled so that is not an option. My BIOS is updated, physical problems ruled out, uninstalled/installed Synaptics drivers to 3 different versions. Running Windows 7 x64

Hi, I would like to ask whether you have tried the normal Mouse? Whether it also cause the same issue? If so, please try the Clean Boot to determine whether the 3rd party applications or tools cause this. You may follow the article in the link below. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 If it does not, I assume this is caused by the Synaptics driver, to contact the Synaptics support is a better choice. Thanks for understanding. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. It appears that HP has recommended drivers for Windows 7 64-bit on this computer, although they are not specifically designed for Windows 7. Here is the Touchpad driver link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3758065#N206 Technically, the computer is not supported by HP for Windows 7. Please note the other drivers and fixes listed by HP. There have been Firefox issues in Windows 7 since the release of this OS. I would suggest that confirm that you have the most recent version and security updates. What did you find with the clean boot?
