I’m able to create an answer file using Windows AIK the one problem I see though is that after it restarts and goes through the sysprep configurations I get the set up box where it’s asking to type a user name. I would like to bypass the option to enter a user name, but I will need to enter a computer name. Is there a way to do such thing? In my current environment we have XP computers and after imaging them they go through the sysprep setup where after we enter the name of the computer they automatically join our domain (all this using a network admin account embedded to the sysprep answer file). Hi, If you use the answer file to install the Windows 7, you can not attend the process of the installation. I would like to share the following document with you. The recommended way to author answer files is to create them in Windows® System Image Manager (Windows SIM). However, if you use a manually authored answer file, you must validate the answer file in Windows SIM to verify that the answer file works. You need to check the setupact.log to find when the automatic installation is determined and why. I think that maybe the answer file did not load when the Windows 7 installed.
