TP-Link-WN851N wireless card slow/intermittent
Hi all, I'm having problems with my TP-Link-WN851N PCI wireless card (V2) and hope you can help! The problem is that the connection is generally very slow and often stops altogether. The problem is just with the host PC as my laptop receives normal speed. The wireless signal is strong enough (4/5 bars and the card used to get full speed). So far I've tried; -downloading the latest drivers, -disable/enable, uninstall/reinstall card in device manager, -swapping PCI slot, -system restore to (working) earlier points, -and after much frustration; a fresh install of windows on a new drive. This solved for the problem for a few boots but now it's failing again. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks. -Rob

Hi Rob, Before going further, would you please let me know if another PC is downloading something? Please boot in Safe Mode with networking to check the result. If the issue disappear, the issue could be related to malware or 3rd party software. Please disable any Security Software or firewall. You also can refer to the following post to scan for the computer. http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistasecurity/thread/ba80504b-61f1-4d71-960f-b561798b7b42 If the issue persists in Safe Mode, please switch to a wired network or try another wireless network. If it is no avail, the issue should be related to the router, please visit the manufacturer’s website and download the latest firmware for your router model and version.
