TWO CPU's ???
I was looking in control panel/system and noticed that it says I have 2 cpu's. The dxdiag also says I have 2 cpu's. The problem with that is I know I have only 1. Why is my system seeing 2 cpu's?1 person needs an answerI do too

Because you have a chip that has 2 cores on it. Most chips now come with "dual cores". Hence it shows you as having 2 CPUs.

Thank you for your reply. Problem is that its not a dual core. Its a Genuine Intel x86 Family 15 Model 3Pentium 4 3.00 ghz processor. In fact when I put this thing together I don't think that dual processors were even available. Could there be another reason?

Found this answer. This maybe you :)http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/797998-pentium-4-showing-2-cores.html It's because the P4 has Hyperthreading. It has 1 core and 2 threads which act like dual cores.
