Where can I find a descriptions of the items on the Task Manager Options menu? Please don't tell they are obvious or respond with a descripition of each of them. I need an official Microsoft description of each option. In general the help functions in Windows 7 are worthless because there is no way to limit it to the application you are using. So entering Options into the search function give you everything except the options associated with Task Manager. http://www.saberman.com

Yes, I did it and here is the second iteration. 2/3 are from one Microsoft page, 1/3 is from discussion forum: Task Manager might be set to Hide When Minimized. When this setting is activated, Task Manager only appears as a green graph icon in the notification area, rather than appearing in the taskbar as other programs do when minimized. Open Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar and then clicking Task Manager. Click the Options menu, and then make sure that there is no check mark next to Hide When Minimized. The next time you minimize Task Manager, it will appear on the taskbar. By default, Task Manager is set to always display on top. To change the default view of Task Manager so that it displays behind other open windows, click the Options menu, and then click Always On Top (which removes the check mark beside the command). If you want Task Manager to stay on top of all other open windows again, click the Options menu, and then click Always on Top (which restores the check mark beside the command). Your original link was to a page that describe the columns available via the View menu. It did not describe one item on the Options menu. Of your three new links only the first one has anything usefull about task manager options and the two items -- after expanding them -- that talk about the options do it backwards. Instead of stating what the options do they tell you how to remove what they did. The second link has wrong information. It confuses Minimize on Use with Hide When Minimized. The third one does have a statement about how usefull the Hide When Minimized but the structure of the page -- and appearently the web site -- is a bit ackward to say the least. By the way, if you did read what I asked I said " I need an official Microsoft description of each option." -- not some third party's web site.
