I tried the first CMD nbtstat in several ways, but it gives me constantly only the help-text of the command and I have no manual for this Cmd, NbTstat (netbios) or the NET cmd in prompt mode, which gives to litle explanatory info on each matter. What manual gived a non engineer a useful guiding in this stuff. Good to know.

From the original description of the problem and error message, I was assuming that you are trying to connect the other computers using Windows Networking (i.e. NetBIOS-over-TCP/IP, or NetBT, or Network Places). This is totally different from IIs which connects with HTTP, FTP, NTP, or SNTP. So most likely, whether IIs is installed or not does not make a difference. The most useful information at this point would be the result of trying to connect manually with the "net use" command from a command prompt window (Start -> Run -> "cmd") net use * \\computername\sharenameReplacing "computername" with another computer name on the subnet, and "sharename" with a shared folder name on that machine.Regards, JW
