The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship.

Hi all,

I'm installing OCS2007R2 in windows Server 2008R2(Cloned VM).
After restarting it prompted while logging in as domain user says "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship".
But i couldn't change the computer from domain to workgroup and vice versa, because i have installed certificate authority service.
which grey's out the change to workgroup option.
Certificate authority service couldn't be uninstalled from local user.

Could anyone please provide an correct solution to fix this ?

Regards,

Arun.

Did you clone the VM off a domain-joined one? If so, you'll need to start from scratch and remove the CA info manually from AD (ADSIEDIT).

Never use a domain-joined machine as a template when installing  infrastructural important machines. You just found out why.

Try to fix this issue by resetting the Computer password in Active Directory and on the Local machine, for this we use a command called NETDOM.
Type in the following command:

NETDOM RESETPWD /Server:<name of any domain controller> /UserD:<domain admin account> /PasswordD:<password>

Then restart server and Try again

Yes , I have cloned a VM of domain joined one.
And thanks for your solution, it worked.
What will happen if i just remove(delete) that VM which has a certificate authority service.

Arun.
