Tips on lowering CPU usage. For Windows XP home.
I have Windows XP. When I am online, my CPU usage is 100% with only one tab open in one browser session. I use IE8 for a browser and I am also using Yahoo Messsenger in standby mode for chat. My computer has slowed down greatly. What can I do to lower my CPU usage and speed up my computer again?1 person needs an answerI do too

Consider using Task Manager to try to determine what process is responsible for the CPU consumption. On the Processes tab, sort the CPU column in descending order. Then, when CPU usage is high, note the processes at the top of the list, and the corresponding values for CPU.If you clean boot, do you notice similar behavior? What about if you boot intosafe mode with networking?
