Transfer photos from old hard drive to new windows 7 home premium computer.
Recently I had my old computer crash. I determined it was dead when I couldn't even get a corded keyboard to work on it when booting up. So I got a new computer with windows 7 home premium. I put my old hard drive in an external enclosure and connected it to my usb port on the new computer. Turned it on and reads the old drive with no problem. Want to transfer pictures to new computer but it says on some of them I need administrator permission. Changed security setting to give permission on the folder to transfer pictures over but still will not let me move them. Tried giving permissions on single files but still will not let me move them. These are all pictures I put on my old hard drive from my camera so I don't see where copyright would be the problem. Please help, I don't want to lose my pictures. Also tried the easy transfer deal, easy, yeah right.

Hi, In this case, there is a big chance caused by permissions of the pictures. So you need to check who is the folders or the pictures’ OWNER with following step: 1. Locating the file or folder where you want to set special permissions. 2. Right-click the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab. 3. Click Advanced, and then use one of the following steps: i. Click Owner, then change the Owner to you. ii. Click Apply. iii. Click the Permission to give you this folder or file Permission. You may also try to perform this steps with Clean Boot.
