Trojan Downloader:Java/openconnection.jr
Loaded Microsoft security essentials and found out I have a Trojan Downloader on my computer. I'm unable to remove from PC, even though other users are able to run Microsoft Essentials and are advised virus has been removed. When I, as the PC administrator attempt to run, I cannot and receive an error code Ox800705b4 not allowing me to turn on real time protection. In addition I receive a virus alert saying computer is now infected and I need to buy someone's PC security tools to remove.Has anyone has this problem and how can I remove?Thank you.2 people need an answerI do too

Hey, This item was also detected on my computer with Microsoft Security Essentials. When it was detected, MSE recommended that I quarantine the item but you are saying to remove it. Why would MSE recommend only a quarantine if it should be removed? I am currently running the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. The link to OneCare says that it is no longer available.

Why would MSE recommend only a quarantine if it should be removed? I am currently running the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. The link to OneCare says that it is no longer available.Quarantine and remove when used in the sense referenced above are interchangeable. It doesn't matter which you choose. Follow the directions below and forget about One Care.Reboot the computer in safe mode with networking. Click on the second link below and download Malwarebytes. Update Malwarebytes and perform a full scan. Choose to quarantine anything found. Once complete click on the third link below and download Superantispyware Portable. Perform a full scan again quarantining anything found. Reboot your computer in normal mode and perform a quick scan with Malwarebytes. How to boot in safe modembam direct dldSuperantispy-portableThe link for Malwarebytes is a direct file download. Make sure you update it prior to scanning. Superantispyware link is to the portable scanner. It does not install and does not need updating provided you scan with it within a reasonable amount of time after downloading. A reasonable amount of time is within a few hours.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/

Remove will done only if Anti-Virus is fully sure that the item is a virus , but if there is a possibility of incorrect detection in order for user to reverse back then it will Quarantine. Note that Quarantine Malware could NOT do anything and it is totally safe and you could chose to either remove it from History tab or restore it. Run full scan with MSE and let it do default actions.
